February Lick #2

Some of the hardest licks to learn, are off time licks, and what I call sideways licks. Sideways Licks , are licks that take a more angular pattern across the fretboard. Django Reinhart. Here's a good one.

1----2----5----------------------------------------------------

2---------3-----6----------------------------------------------

3-------------4----7-------------------------------------------

4-------------------5--------8---------------------------------

5------------------------------6-----9-------------------------

6--------------------------------------7----10-----------------

You could even end with an arpeggio back up the neck as you end this lick on the 7th frett. Django only had three good working fingers on his left hand. And played arpeggios, jazz and Classical music very well. Or you could add the lick above this one to create a lick like this whcih sound cool.

6--------------------
5-------------------
4-------------7---9-
3----------9---
2------10----
1 7---------

Work on this lick and get it very fluid. It will take some time but this will work the left hand tremendously.
